BOAT TAX GONE IN STAFFORD COUNTY FROM THE DESK OF JIMMY FRANKLIN (HOPE SPRINGS MARINA) April 23, 2013 It’s a DONE DEAL! The boat tax in Stafford no longer exists! By a vote of 7 to 0 (how incredible is THAT?) the Stafford County Board of Supervisors voted to lower the rate to .001 percent, effectively eliminating the tax all together. There will be no boat tax bill this year! No tax bill nex...t year….no tax bill for the foreseeable future. Thanks go out to everyone who was a part of this effort…everyone who wrote letters, all who did research, all who spoke at the board meetings, the supervisors who made this happen, particularly Paul Milde, our Aquia Supervisor, who always believed that it was good for the county and was the right thing to do. |
